Watch out world…
Citius, Altius, Fortius!
I have decided to participate in the yarn
harlot‘s Knitting Olympics.
harlot‘s Knitting Olympics.
The idea is to cast on for a project during the
opening ceremonies and finish before the end of the olympics. That is 16 days
of committed knitting. I know that I cannot complete a sweater during that time,
or anything like that, but I have decided to try and challenge myself. I will
be attempting my first stranded knitting project, the pirate mittens
from hello yarn. That makes me a self-declared member of the USA
Fair Isle Knit
Team.

The best part about these mittens is that they are
made out of Dale of Norway Hauk. This is a yarn in which
the wool fibers have been coated in teflon for improved water repellency. i
won’t nerd all over you right now, but expect a post on just how important
teflon is in my everyday science
life.

I have ordered the yarn, so there
is no turning back.
