Booties galore

I finished the red booties while away on
vacation. I am a little disappointed because one bootie is slightly bigger than
the other, and I am not going to redo it. It is just part of the charm of a
handmade item.

While in Denmark I
visited a knitting shop and bought some superwash wool sock yarn. It was
practically the only variegated yarn that they had in the store. i am currently
knitting it up into a bootie which i call “hippie
baby.”

It is the same old design as before (from
the

Knitting for Baby
book) but the yarn makes it so
extra cute! i know you are tired of seeing this kind of bootie. i am getting a
little tired of making it; i have the pattern memorized. i put in an order with
Amazon and any day know I expect to receive a copy of
50 Baby Bootees to
Knit
.
I was interested in this book when
i first heard about it, but the reviews of it on amazon weren’t so hot. So i
decided I would take a look inside an decide for myself. The main complaint
was that many of the patterns were the same, just in different colors. My
cursory examination revealed this to be somewhat true, but the patterns
themselves are just so darned cute. The amazon price is pretty low, so i feel i
paid for about 25 bootie patterns. we’ll see what i think after i get the book
and get started.

I was recently invited
to join the California Knit Blogs Webring (thanks JenLa). While browsing around, I
found Spaazlicious
who has posted some hilarious pictures from an old pattern book that you should
check out. this has inspired me to scan in some of the funny pictures my
friends and i have collected in some old garage-sale pattern
books.
