Girl on the Rocks

formerly known as Knit This… Knitting, spinning, crafting – it’s all here.

Mostly about Loot. August 16, 2006

I just deduced that I have been nominated for a blog award… It is an odd category- “Changed URL and Survived,” but it applies! So stop by and vote for me – especially if you knew back when this page was “Knit This.”

Now on to the loot.
First the crafty b-day loot. Alerting your relatives to the Webs sale (and in fact explaining to them exactly what you want) can yield this:

Big Box o' Noro Kureyon

That is a whole sweater’s worth of Noro Kueryon #88. god bless webs.

Last night at knitting, Wenonah brought me the most perfect birthday present.

Ticking clock

It is perfect because I didn’t even know that I liked clocks, and I totally love this one! See (and hear) it in action here. It might take a bit of maintenance to replace a missing knob, but once i do i think i will be able to get the alarm to work too!

Debbie brought some delicious champagney/cidery stuff called Babycham that apparently originates in england. It was pretty tasty and had an adorable deer on the front of it. (picture to be added later since flickr stopped cooperating) Awesome!

Diagonal Scarf March 15, 2004

Filed under: Karrie's Current Projects — karrie @ 2:08 pm

This is one of the first things I ever made. I bought a kit to make this
scarf at the Stitches West knitting convention in 2003. It is made from Noro
Silk Garden. The scarf is knit on the diagonal – every row you decrease a few
at the beginning, and add a few at the end. It was the first time I had seen any
of the Noro yarn, and I am still totally in love with it.

(you can see a better picture in the Finished Projects Gallery)

I am
hoping to use some Noro Kureyon soon to make a Booga Bag. i am thinking of using color
#58…

What do you think?
