Make sure to check both holes November 26, 2006
That is the bit of advice that someone should have given us befoer deep-frying the turkey. I knew there should be a bag of giblets somewhere, but we just couldn’t find them. Why don’t they just put them in the same hole as the turkey neck?
To prevent scenarios like the ones here, Leah bought a fire extinguisher and had it at the ready for the turkey drop.
The turkey was never left unattended

and took a very long hour to cook.
and it turned out great (though filled with a magically unmelted bag of steamed giblets).
More photos here.

I laughed so hard when I read this post. One year I roasted our turkey and didn’t realize the giblets were in a separate bag in the other end. I pulled out the neck and just thought the butcher shorted me!!
You should always check all holes before preceeding forward.
I love how every picture of Jim makes it look like he is smelling something off. He certainly doesn’t look like a happy camper.
LOL!! glad there was no harm done with the giblets. Looks like a lovely feast was had by all.
That damned bag of giblets causes so many problems…
Best Title Award.
Also, I got my order and am SO pleased! They’re so wee. I love their weeness. My friends are gonna be the envy of blogistan.
