Frighteningly inaccurate poll

For a knitting update… I really want to start a booga bag , but i have to finish some other
things first. I should get at least half way done with the first leg warmer,
and i MUST make the second red bootie.

Also, it is time to
bring my booty/bootie quiz to an end. With an underwhelming response of just 7
votes (and one of those was mine) my visitors have decided that the singular
form of the word “booties” is “booty.”

According to the OED, neither bootie or booty is a word. The
american heritage dictionary recognizes bootee and bootie. It seems that in all
the dictionaries I can find, only “booty” is not a word. So much for the
poll…

Correction: all the dictionaries do recognize booty as a
word, but as pirates loot, not a baby slipper.
