Amabie ornament
$14.00 – $26.00
Bring abundance and good health to your holiday celebration with a Japanese Amabie. A mythical Japanese spirit figure (yokai) awoken from the bottom of the ocean, the Amabie appeared to a townsperson in 1864. It was described as having long hair, a beak, scales. and three legs. It said “Good harvest will continue for six years from the current year; if disease spreads, draw a picture of me and show the picture of me to those who fall ill
and they will be cured.”
This decorative amabie is about 3 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide with a string at the top for hanging. It is available in black acrylic (with white detail), seafoam green (with black detail) and a natural unfinished maple wood. They have all been laser cut and the acrylic ornaments have been hand painted. Last picture depicts other amabie products – not all included in this listing.
Ornaments are available individually or in sets of 2 (see drop down boxes).
Amabie come packaged in a kraft box ready for gift giving.
