I have been pretty busy lately and Stitches West is to blame. First, I have a project that has been toiling in obscurity for years… My Central Park Hoodie. I haven’t mentioned it here in over a year, and the pattern, project, and yarn all relocated to different unknown locations. I wrangled everything together and started working on it in the evenings, with the hope of wearing it to Stitches West, a mere 2 years after I bought the yarn there. I am one and a half button bands (and some blocking) away from completion.

The next time you see it, I will be wearing it at Stitches.

Thanks to Jamie at Urban Fauna Studio (booth #1036) and Krista from Pigeonroof Studios (booth #637), I am not just a Stitches West shopper, I am a seller! UFS has both my stitch markers and fiber, and Pigeonroof will have my stitch markers. Yay! I am really excited about this and plan to break some rules and snap some camera phone pics of my items on display. I am headed to stitches tomorrow and Saturday and will be helping out in the aforementioned booths so say hi if you see me. Also I will be doing a Hazel Rose loom demo on Saturday at 1 pm in the Demo area so come by if you want to see a little loom in action. I plan to tweet my adventures, so follow me for pics and updates.

Note to self: Go to Target tonight to stock up on “Adult Juice Boxes.”

Bizness

So my posts here have practically come to a standstill. I am busy at work and when I do have crafty time, it has been mostly spent generating moustaches. Why the sudden stockpiling of ‘staches? Because I will be selling my wares at the San Francisco Bazaar Bizarre on December 15th.

Hooray! I am very excited about it. It has allowed me to fulfill a long-time (and now outdated) goal of owning a manual credit card processor. I like to call them ka-chunkers. I will probably be the only person there more excited about accepting credit cards instead of cash.

I am hopeful that I will get to meet a lot of crafters and possible SF-area blog readers. I bought a little book, and hope to have my readers/online friends sign it (idea totally stolen from jekbot – she was doing this at Felt Club). To entice you to introduce yourself, I am willing to bribe my readers with special moustache buttons… All you have to do is introduce yourself Also, if you want anything, i can bring it there for pick-up.

And as if selling stuff isn’t enough, I will doing a demo on Weavettes from 4:30-5. You can stop by and see why I think these little looms are so fun.

I have some new items that are pretty darn cute. If you don’t have the dough for them, you can now convince your paypal-saavy loved ones to buy you a gift certificate.

More alphabet stitch markers for knitting along with cat bordhi’s books. This set is for those that knit two socks at once!

And for the ‘stache lovers I have the only ‘stache for the holidays – Santa. Get the big man’s moustache on buttons, cards, or gift tags

I also have a batch of pocket mirrors with gocco printed storage bags. I am kinda hoarding these for the Bazaar, so if you want one, you might have to ask

A Windfall of craftiness

First, the bad news… I applied for a table to sell my craft wares at the SF Bazaar Bizaare in May, and I didn’t get accepted. ho-hum. I can’t believe they have chosen to leave themselves moustache-less. Now I wish I would have done something to get involved like drop spindle demonstrations, or crocheting with video tape or something but those deadlines passed long ago, and I was hedging my bets on the Bazaar…

But there are other things to cheer me up. I took some nice photos for the Bazaar application, and one features the newest item in my shop: The Old West Moustache Set.

Cookie A gave my stitch markers a mention and now they are selling as fast as I can list them. Thanks so much Cookie!

I have also received a bunch of swap goodies from swap-bot.
I really enjoyed the tea swap. I got these from Germany:

And my partner in the “Crafty Chick” swap really outdid herself.

A Martha Stweart Living, paper goodies, a hand sewn case, yarn, and more! See that green yarn in the top left? i immediately started using it in granny squares.

Those grannies are really starting to pile up, by the way….
