At least it is a vest!

I have progressed far enough on my Rogue that is a wearable object, though not complete.Here she is, curly bottom and all….

I have also made significant progress on the sleeves. I am doing two at once and I am about half finished with them. As a treat to myself for finishing the main body, i wound up some handpainted yarn that i bought for my next cardigan.

It is 100% wool and is not quite the color combo was expecting – the lightest parts are very green colored, which is tough to capture in a picture. It wasn’t captured in the photo on the webpage when I ordered the yarn, so i was surprised by the color, but it is growing on me. i have also started thinking about Christmas knitting. Okay, i know it is a little late. I have basically a month- but i think I can do it! I really just want to make two scarves and a vest. I am planning to use bulky yarn for all of them. The vest will be from the same pattern that I used before , but I might try to modify it to be done mostly in the round, and with a different collar. I am going to use the bulky weight wool/alpace blend from Knitpicks, Sierra. To make the scarves luxurious, I want to use Panache from Knitpicks. It
a bulky weight blend of 40% Baby Alpaca, 20% Cashmere, 20% Silk, 20% Extrafine Merino. I can only imagine how soft that will be. Now I am going to start perusing my Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns for a suitable texture… Oh yeah, and I better order the yarn.

This weekend we finished spinning the yarn for the pre-knit portion of the sheep to shawl competition. here is some of it still on the wheel

I have finished my school obligations and am
ready to head home for the holidays. I have loaded up all of my knitted gifts
and…

I am bringing the yarn for my ribby
cardi.

i finished felting the bag for
my mom. below are before and after pictures of the felting. i still need to
line it, but all of the knitting is done. i did experience a bit of uneven
felting – it is much wider at the top than the bottom, but it works out okay for
this bag.

man, that was a huge bag before i felted it. it
covered an entire couch cushion.

I feel like i deserve to start a small project
after finishing that baby blanket.

I should probably knit some more baby booties
since i am hosting a baby bootie knit along, but i am not quite ready
yet. Last night I started On the Moon from the most recent issue of knitty. It is a really simple pattern, so it
will be perfect to work on tonight at the knittig circle. I am using some yarn
that I ordered from elann for just this purpose: It is
Schachenmayr Rainbow and the color is Vegas lights. You can imagine what is
going to look like:

Well, you can kinda imagine. I really like this
yarn. I can’t believe how soft it is when it is knit up. i might order some
more just to have around for something.

A while ago I tried to make a computer icon of a
little ball of yarn. I think the mac version works okay, but i am pretty sure
the windows version might need some adjusting. Can someone download it and then
let me know?

use control+click to save the disk image (.dmg) to your
desktop.

pink_ball_win.ico Windows Version. I
think you can just right-click and choose “save file as”. Try
it!
