I : I followed your orders exactly, the chestnuts all looked good, but after 20 minutes they were hard as rocks. I left some in the hot toaster for 5 more minutes, and some became black as coals and others became even harder. My toaster oven does not show its fixed temperature, but shows 650W as its power. Chinese made (” le chef”). It seems to me that 10 minutes should do it ( but no chestnuts remained for trying this). What is the normal fixed temperature in your toaster (American made, I presume)?

My Husband is Italian, and his whole family loooove chestnuts….your method of cooking them is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! They Come out So Perfectly Everytime.

I used to roast chestnuts somewhat frequently, but haven’t in years. I needed to re-learn how and found your site. Thank you!!! The “delicious little brains” are in the toaster oven now. I can’t wait to eat them up yum!
